Defining a Brand in Motion
Capturing an Agency’s Identity in Motion
The challenge was to create a signature brand bumper for the creative agency 3 Apples High. With complete creative freedom and only a few keywords and the logo as a guide, my task was to distill the agency’s energetic, nimble, and sophisticated identity into a high-impact motion piece. The 18-second bumper needed to be versatile enough to serve as both a powerful video intro and a standalone promotional asset, building intrigue and leaving a lasting impression.
The Creative Solution
A Narrative of Building Energy
My creative solution was to design a short narrative arc that builds from mystery to a powerful reveal. The animation begins with slow, sweeping camera movements around a monolithic, clean 3D number ‘3’, creating a sense of scale and suspense. As the music track crescendos, the pacing accelerates dramatically with gritty, kinetic typography that reveals the agency’s ethos (“A Nimble Creative Company”). This build-up culminates in the final, sharp reveal of the 3 Apples High logo, creating a memorable and satisfying brand statement.
The Execution
Integrating 3D and 2D Workflows
As the Lead Motion Designer, I executed this project from concept to completion, integrating a 3D and 2D workflow:
3D Modelling & Animation (Cinema 4D): Created a large-scale ‘3’ with a premium feel, animated with elegant, dynamic camera moves.
Kinetic Typography & Compositing (After Effects): Brought 3D renders into After Effects, layering in bold, textured type for visual contrast.
Rhythmic Editing: Synced all cuts, moves, and type reveals to the music’s rhythm for maximum visual and emotional impact.
The Outcome

The final bumper is a powerful and versatile brand asset that perfectly captures the energetic and sophisticated identity of 3 Apples High. It serves as a memorable “brand stamp” for all agency video content. This project showcases my ability to lead a project from initial concept to final delivery, effectively integrating 3D and 2D workflows to create a polished, high-impact piece that strengthens a brand’s visual identity.
