Hi, I’m Ricardo, a Motion Designer, College Professor, and Creative Entrepreneur based in Canada. With a career spanning over 16 years, my journey began in 2007 as a video editor in Brazil, quickly evolving when I discovered Adobe After Effects. That moment sparked my lifelong passion for motion design, blending creativity with meticulous attention to detail.
I’ve had the privilege of crafting diverse motion design projects across various industries, but educational videos hold a special place in my portfolio. One highlight was creating the “Pause to Prevent” animation for the University of Toronto while working at 3 Apples High, a project that creatively addressed student safety through engaging visual storytelling.
Teaching became a natural extension of my passion for motion design. After years as an industry professional and freelancer, I took on teaching roles at Conestoga College and Centennial College, leading courses such as Motion Graphics I, Capstone, and Digital Imaging. My approach integrates industry standards, realistic client expectations, and thorough feedback, helping students develop both their skills and confidence. Former students often describe my style as passionate, supportive, and inspiring.
Always eager to innovate, I’ve recently begun creating practical tools and plugins leveraging AI technologies, empowering fellow motion designers, my students, and myself to streamline workflows and enhance creativity.
Beyond design and teaching, my entrepreneurial mindset led me to start the YouTube channel “English Speeches.” What began as a personal tool to support my English studies grew organically into a vibrant community of over 6 million subscribers worldwide.
Having worked half my career in Brazil and the other half in Canada, I deeply appreciate cultural nuances and design diversity. I studied Arts and Design at Centennial, the very program I now teach, and earned my VFX credential from Humber College, where my former professor is now my colleague at Conestoga.
Currently, I am open to freelance opportunities, lead motion design roles, teaching engagements, mentoring, and collaboration on creative tools or scripts. If you’re interested in working together or discussing potential projects, feel free to reach out. I’d love to connect.
